Several factors, including how crowded the prisons are. Current rumors within the Texas prisons is 3-for-one. The norm is 2-for-one -- 2 days credit for each day served. That's state prison. Fed is supposed to be hard time. 5 years is 5 years.

yes, he will have to spend at least 25 years in prison before he's eligible for parole, maybe more. however, if he acts on his best behavior in prison he might get to go on parole sooner.

His attorney should have explained this to him. He will probably be up for parole in 15 years, assuming he has no major problems in prison.

Don't you mean your soon-to-be ex-husband? The answer to your question is probably not. If he has good behavior- he can be let out much sooner.
