There are far superior brands of skin care products to use to solve acne problems.
Proactiv is just benzoyle peroxide which is the same active ingredient in Clearasil. Recent studies of b.p. have found that it damages collagen in the skin causing premature wrinkling.
Try Murad's acne line. Much more gentle & actually solves the problem instead of temporarily stopping it. It is worth the extra money. Good skin is worth the price you have to pay to have it. I have seen miraculous results with my clients who use Murad. It truly is amazing.
Another thing that will help is getting regular facials. This helps to keep the skin cleared out and pores clean. If money is a problem, you can find a beauty school and get a facial usually for about $10. Ask them about high frequency/ arcing. This is a treatment that kills the bacteria in the pores to stop the break outs.
If you have more questions, you can e-mail me.

I used it and didn't like it. It is very drying and harsh, but then I've know people who really liked it.
I think that skin care is really personal. What works for me is Purpose cleanser, Aveno exfoliate. Dermatologist prescribed medication is better if you have acne (not just the occasional pimple) because they can target your problem specifically. I would stay away from oral medication because you never know what effect it can have on your body, but topical prescription can be very beneficial. Hope that helps!

My nephew has been using it for several years and its amazing ! As someone else said, it is not for everyone. If you are allergic to aspirin, its a big NO NO because the active ingredient is the same.

way to expensive. all what it basically is is benzoyl peroxide which you can buy at a local drug store for a much cheaper price. as far as I'm concerned benzyol peroxide is the best thing for acne you just have to watch out for how much of it is in a product. if you don't really have oily skin i recommend getting some with not that much in it because it can really dry out your skin if you get too much.
