Everybodys skin is different, so the way it reacts to products will be different for everybody. One thing you do need to look out for though, is sometimes when you start a new acne regimine, it will initially make your skin break out. This is because the medicine is drawing out the dirt, and pimples that are under the skin. This doesn't happen to everybody, and usually only lasts about a week.
Personally I have many friends that have tried proactive, and it didn't work for them. But it is a pretty big seller, so i'm assuming it works for somebody.

It worked for me pretty quickly, but be aware, when I used it for the very first time, it irritated my skin very badly and dried it out and then it wound up making my pimples worse. So I stopped using it and retried it a few weeks later, it was still slightly irritated but it didn't make my pimples worse. It took about three days for my skin to get used to it, I made sure to drink lots and lots of water so that it wouldn't feel so dry. I'd say it took about a week or so for them to start going away.

Should start within the first 2 weeks.
Use with caution because it dries out your skin. It also damages your skin at the collagen level causing premature wrinkles. New evidence of benzoyle peroxide is the cause of this.
