I always thought that nerds were people who were obsessive/highly educated in a useful field, like engineering or math, and geeks were people who were obsessive about useless things, like dungeons and dragons... so I say nerds. What say you?

I am saddened to hear of your misconception of the word "geek". Geek has aproxamately the same connotation as nerd, but they are not the same. Nerds are people who know tons of stuff about one subject but do not know how to make it work. Geeks are the people who are obsessed with a subject and can make the nerd's ideas come to be. Therefore nerds and geeks are the same in importance. The best, though, is a mixture of nerd and geek, who are able to come up with ideas and put them into execution also.

I hope this leaves you more enlightened.

Geeks are more fun because they're more likely to joke around and make it apply to real life. Nerd jokes are usually either in binary or assume knowledge most don't have. Besides, geeks are kind of like nerd/slackers.

Nerds, we all end up working for them someday. I'm sure Bill Gates was considered a Nerd when he was younger. Look at him now.

Depends on how they're prepared. It also depends on which one has the bigger pocket protector, and the higher pants.
