It's totally possible to be 2cm for weeks before you go into labour. You'll start to feel contractions when your body and the baby are ready! Trust me, you won't mistake them for anything else. My water broke, and while I was sitting on the toilet talking on the phone with my midwife, she asked me if I was having contractions. I answered that I didn't know... no, not really, I dunno ... two minutes later, WHAM. Contraction. No doubt.
Just relax, get things ready for the baby, take bubble baths (you won't be able to for a long time!), think happy thoughts. It'll happen when it happens.
If you're still concerned, call your doctor or midwife and ask them!
Best of luck! And congrats!

Yes that is perfectly normal. Theres no time table on when you will go into actual labor. I was 3cm for about a week before I had my son.I had sex and the very next morning I lost my mucous plug, Later that night I went into Labor. Maybe try that if you are anxious. Good Luck. Get lots of rest, You'll need it.

It differs from woman to woman. At 2 I felt them but couldn't get a shot until like 5. You should have, if nothing else, had braxton hicks contractions by now.

Don't worry about it. I was two cenimeters for a couple of weeks. And I asked my doctor about it and he said it was normal. I didn't feel contractions at first I just started to feel funny then they got stronger when they broke my water.
