Fox news reported a red submarine distress buoy noted after a US sub did not report in. A sunk sub alert was issued after the second missed check in, White house notified. At issue was communication electronics failed vs. Captain misunderstood time of check in being 0530 when the checkin was 0330. I cannot find this story anywhere on the Fox web page or USA today. The story mentions the ocean depth in that area was 1000 feet deep off the coast of Jacksonville Florida. There were two other submarines and a ship along with the presumed "sunk" sub practicing an exercise when this incident occurred. Can the goverment just pull a news story after it has been reported?
