It wasn't on the lesson plan, and I don't give a flying **** about Saint Patrick or the Irish -- even if I am one. Snakes, on the other hand, are a good subject.
Snakes have no arms. That's why they don't wear vests.
Also, you can use tinsel to frighten away snakes. It's like a mirror to them. If you hold it up, they run away, because even snakes are afraid of snakes.

Lesson 1:
St. Patrick did not chase the snakes out of Ireland. He chased the Druids out, whom he called "devils". Now, since Genisis had the devil in serpent form, the story grew where he chased the serpents out.
(He did not even completely chase the Druids out. The Druids were still influencal until the 14th century)
