we waited till after my baby got the shots to give her any Tylenol, that way we got the chance to ask, and got the okay to give her some and asked him how much would be okay to give her. Either call ahead to the doctors and ask, or wait till after the shots to ask and give her the Tylenol.

My 2 month old just got hers last wk- u can give (and should give for 24 hrs afterward) 80 ml of INFANT Tylenol every 4 hrs. That's basically a little less than the whole dropper full that comes in the box/bottle. However, every doc has their own opinion and every parent has their own instincts. They'll tell u what they recommend, but FYI the Tylenol is more for preventing a fever from a possible reaction to the vaccines than it is for pain. Just like any shot you've had, it really only hurts for a second or two and then it's just maybe an uncomfortable spot on your skin.

you ought to get toddler Tylenol and stick to the dosage on that, the pharmasist on the keep can inform you the dosage while you're perplexed. i'd wait until after she gets her photos to work out if she desires Tylenol, because of the fact some toddlers do not want it in any respect, after the preliminary soreness from the needle. Wait until you get abode and if she is unquestionably cranky, fever or despite then you are able to decide, yet once you provide her Tylenol until now she is going, you will not recognize how she reacts for the subsequent time. My son necessary Tylenol the 1st time at 2 months and at 4 months he became into positive. i think of the dosage for purely 24 lbs. is like 2.5 ml or something like that. you do not ought to ask a doctor, purely ask the pharmacist. good success. Tylenol does make toddlers that youthful rather drained so she would have the ability to in all probability sleep lots, besides as having the shot. good success!

Wait until you go to the appt, but take the tylenol w/ you...ask the ped before you give it...it's been a while since I did 2 month shots, but I'm pretty sure we did give tylenol before! Just take it w/ you and give it right before baby gets shots...you may have childrens tylenol instead of infants...I don't know any infant that weighs 24lbs!! Infants tylenol is in a little bottle w/ a dropper. Good luck!

We took our daughter to have her 2 month old shots this morning. The doctor told us to give her Tylonel (if we wanted to) after she got the shots to control her pain and the possibility of a fever. She's 13 1/2 lbs so we gave her the full .8 of Tylenol every 5 hours and she's been sleeping all day.

When I worked in Peds, we would ask the parents if they gave child any tylenol/ibuprofen yet, if not we would give them a dose of one or the other right after the shots to prevent fever and swelling. Call doctor or pharmacist for right dosage and make sure you have the infant drops. We gave it right after the shots because if you do it right before, the baby associates taking medicine with the shots, kind of like pavlov's dog, and then in the future if baby is sick, you won't get hthem to take it because they fear getting a shot. It is safe to alternate the tylenol with ibuprofen every 3 hours, that is if you give tylenol at 8 am, you can give ibuprofen at 11 am and then tylenol at 2pm. That way, 6 hours between the doses. Make sure you keep track on a piece of paper so you can remember what to give when.

My pediatrician provided a bottle of Tylenol and gave my girl a dose before giving shots. I am able to give her .6 mLg's when needed.
Best of luck. They really do forget way sooner than we do. Maybe we should take the Tylenol!!!

Okay so with my son I gave him half the recommended dose they have on the bottle before his two month shots and tomorrow morning I plan on doing the same thing for my baby girl who will be getting her first shots early. It does help and your doc might even give you a prescription for Tylenol for after the shots, if he doesn't offer, ask. trust me it will make things so much easier. You should also give Tylenol every four hours after that to help with the pain. You should also plan to give your baby a bottle or nurse a little to help calm him down after. Good luck, remember it will be harder on you than him!

Do you have the infant formula Tylenol? My doctor told me to give it to my kids before their shots when they were babies and it worked great. We never had any problems...I have them take an Advil before they get their boosters now that they are older! If nothing else take the Tylenol with you and ask the doctor how much to give your son & give it while you wait for the nurse to come in with the shots.

I always gave my children Tylenol right before their visit for shots. It's a pain reliever and will help with the soreness and discomfort. Call the doctor to see how much he recommends for your child's age/weight.
