Easiest way to do this is to take the hard drive out and put it in another computer, then burn the files you want to save to CD/DVD.

Also, something to check if u want to try fixing the computer is your video card.

Do you have on-board video as well as a separate video card? IF so, try the other connector as your video settings may have reverted back to the original configuration.

Bad memory can cause your computer to hang in the boot post process, and result in no video.

If you get absolutely no video, an that means startup and bios messages at boot, then it is NOT a driver problem. Most likely a bad video card. Simply install a cheap PCI or AGP card will get you going again in VGA mode, enough to determine if the old card was the problem.

If the computer is dead, then your hard drive is most likely still ok. Remove it and install it in another computer as a slave and your data should be accessible enough to copy needed files to CD/DVD or the network.

i think there might be problem with the onboard VGA or drivers... install the motherboard drivers again by installing a new operating system and check for RAM or RAM slot clean the RAM and slots properly or insert a new RAM and check now......... may be there is a problem in the motherboard. and not in the monitor. try the above steps ... either the RAM or loose power chord connected to the monitor or at last check the motherboard to a system engineer.
byeeee..... thank you
