Right now Neither!
My cat knocked my glasses off the side so my dogs could chew them up so I don't prefer either right now! I hate my cat more anyway because he's always doing stuff like that especially laying on the clean cloths pile covering it all in dirt and hair and looking at you as thought it's you thats in the wrong!
I'd normally say I love dogs more becaues they are absolutly great, loving, loyal, full of character, mine are very cheeky, cuddley and make me look forward to coming home every day to see their happy faces and waggy tails!
I hate my cat thought hes a total s**t! My tabby girl is lovely though the sweetest cat in the world and tiny too.

I prefer wolves and wolf hybrids over dogs. I have 1 wolf hybrid and 2 dogs. I guess my next choice are cats, I have 14. Thet are very independent. When on vacation 2 yrs ago, my cats stayed home while my wolf hybrid and the one dog I had, were kept by my mom. I later found out my cats had chose to mainly eat with my neighbor's 5 cats however. So I took a large bag of food over to her to replace what mine ate. Mine eat 20 pounds of dry food a week plus canned. We had cats, dogs, birds, couple of hamsters and several tanks of fish. Now we have too many to list all of them. But all are cared for and loved.

I had experience with cats since the day I was born which is exactly 14 years of experience. Overall throughout the years, I had about 8 cats & today I still have cats. Both are handicapped...I'm now 17 & getting sick of cats so ever since we adopted a puppy Golden Retriever last year, I loved dogs from that day onwards. I have three right now & they are my best friends!!!

I have 2 girl Siamese cats,my sisters each have a girl Bengal,and the family have a Samoyed dog,but I still like cats better than dogs,since I was young we've always had a cat,and I love the big cats(cheetah,lion,snow-leopard)too.I do like,dogs,just I'm a cat person.

I actually prefer dogs, and here is my reasoning for that.

I was watching an animal show, and it is said that dogs understand about 1000 words and phrases and respond to those, but cats, well, cats understand everything that you are saying, they just act like they don't. Cats are snobby and prissy. Dogs are definately more of a companion.

Dogs! A dog is a family member...a faithful companion who would risk his life for you. There's just something so special about the relationship you can have with a dog. There are some cats that have almost dog-like personalities...but they're quite rare. Dogs love you....cats tolerate you. (And kids just annoy you!)
And dogs are useful! They can protect you...herd your cows...sniff out drugs (comes in handy if you're a dope fiend)..play with you...etc. And NOTHING beats taking a nice long walk with a dog!

I prefer dogs, because they look up to you as a master and actually tend to appreciate all that you do for them with intense loyalty. They are also smarter than cats, and can learn a variety of commands, tricks, and jobs. They're willing to adapt to your schedule, and will happily sit for a good petting anytime, whereas a cat has to do it on its own schedule.

That's not to say that cats don't have their place. Cats are great for a person who likes an independent pet who considers itself equal to you. You have to adapt your affection schedule around your cat's, true, but they are also much lower maintenance. So it's all what you prefer.

But as for me, I don't think that any pet can beat a dog when it comes to unconditional loyalty and devotion.

I totally prefer dogs! Dogs, especially puppies are very sweat pets. Dogs can also become a great guardian for your house. They don't smell and they are friendly with children.
But cats are more independent animals. They prefer to stay out of the house and sometimes you don't see them for days. They can also become very aggressive sometimes.

I love both! But only have a cat because my husband and I both work and feel it would be unfair to have a dog when we're not at home all day. Cats are independent and ours has a catflap so he comes and goes as he pleases all day.
