OK, i bought an Intel CPU Fan, but once i start windows, it often drops from 1950 MHz to 0 MHz, what has happened, and what should i do, THe tempurature of my CPU is also fine while the fan drops speed. Also, when i play games, if my CPU is 60 degrees celcuis, is it normal?

Okay, fans rotate, so your RPM's are dropping to zero RPM, not zero Mhz. And yes, that's normal. If you don't like it, you can change it in the BIOS. Just hit either Del, F1, F2, or F5 when you first start the computer (it should tell you which key to press at the bottom of the screen) to enter the BIOS. That setting can be changed in almost all BIOS's.

I dont like messing with BIOS settings, usually if you dont know what your doing you can end up with more problems then you began with! better off trying other things first. and hey, if it's not broken, DONT FIX IT!!

are you sure it's the MHz that falls and not the RPM on the fan? if it is the RPM it is probably a automatic fan that is controlled by the tempurature of the cpu, but it shouldnt stop or go to 0 at any point. could be a major fault in the cpu/fan or or just be microsoft windows messing with you as it usually dosnt rechignise stuff to well.

another thing that should give you a better idea of whats actually going on is to try downloading this. it is a excellent program that monitors cpu, hard disk and north bridge temps, and the CPU fans RPM rate. just go to www.download.com and type in the search speedfan and download and install speedfan 4.28

60 C for a cpu may be a little on the warm side, but with a bad fan - maybe. It might not last as long that way though.
Any 3 in dia. plastic fan that spins at 1950 MHz would disintegrate and take two rooms of your house out in the process. Someone either doesn't know enough about science or has been playing their game a little too long.
