The bala is not showing any other symptoms, he is still eating and swimming around with the other bala in the tank. Any ideas?

If you have a water test kit, test your tank for ammonia - red streaks on the fins are one sign of ammonia poisoning. If you get a reading other than zero, do a 25% water change and take another reading tomorrow. If it's still above zero, do another water change. Same if you can test for nitrates and the measurement is over 40ppm. If you don't have a test kit, try this and see if it helps in a few days (do two 25% changes).

Another possible cause might be that he's running into something while swimming in the tank and doing some damage to the fins.

How long have you ever had those 2 sharks? have you ever further the different fish or flora to the tank? while became the final time you probably did a partial water substitute (from the backside)? i understand those are fairly some questions for you.. without understanding any of the solutions i'd l recommend a 25% water substitute using a syphon from the backside corners and outer edges of the tank and scattered in the process the middle. Then upload clean water salt from the puppy save, to the tank once you replace the water. that's a brilliant usual tonic for countless issues, even with the undeniable fact that that's considerable by no ability purely upload the salt, salt won't evaporate, so which you purely upload the salt once you bodily do away with water then purely upload adequate to fill up the water you do away with. you could have a severe nitrate content fabric on your tank. in case you have a attempt equipment, attempt it, in case you do no longer, take a pattern to the puppy save and ask them to objective it for you, they could do it the two for unfastened or purely a $a million or so.. the two way, a partial substitute will help concerns, even with the undeniable fact that that's considerable do it from the backside, do no longer dip from the coolest.. all the junk that reasons the nitrates to boost is mendacity on the backside in the rocks. it may be something else, yet that's the place i'd initiate. that's good to your tank the two way. good good fortune.

Oh I know exactly what that is! It's an internal bacterial infection and can be helped with a medication that has to be administered by a vet. There isn't an over the counter medication that is going to help your issue. I can't remember the name of this infection, I think it's something as simple as red fin... But it's a bacterial infection. Good luck!
