First of all, yogurt doesn't growl. It emits a high-pitch eerie sound, like the Blob. If you're sure you heard growling, that'd probably be meat of some sort. -Maybe a pork chop from your Y2K New Year's dinner. It does get lonely in there, and they sometimes do take it out on each other. I wouldn't open the yougurt, though. Just put it out in the sun, and I can almost guarantee it'll open the container all on its own.

Oh no! throw that yogurt container away it is too old, I am sure there is some kind of gas forming in that container or mold experiment going on, don't even bother to open it. Good Luck !

2. Just in case you are serious, you should definitely open it. I would open it outside with witnesses and a camera. What you want to do is open it and toss it at the same time. Or throw it (outside) and see if the top comes off. I wouldn't be anywhere close to it though

If it has been trapped in there for a year of course you should open it. Set the poor thing free. Let it ooze on out of there and find others of it's kind. Go on do the right thing, you will feel better for it.
