Should I attempt to put in a new video card on my computer??I used to repair power tools so I know a little bit.................,there is usually just a few screws isnt there??Just make sure this is no static electricity yatta yatta yatta.And save my self some money??

Yes Its easier then you think. You unplug the pc, Unhook your monitor from the video card, then Take the side of the pc off. Touching the metal on the case, you unscrew the single screw (phillips), and pull the card straight out. It comes out hard sometimes, and sometimes you may need to use where the monitor plugs in for leverage., Push the new card all the way into the slot, replace the screw the side of the case, and hook the monitor back up, then plug the pc back in and power on. windows will find the basic drivers for the card, insert the CD and install the software, then reboot. Its easier then adding oil to your car...

Make sure of the compatability of the new card before you but it. Some are 1X/2X, and some are 8X only, and some are 4X/8X. See what your computer needs. Make sure of the Ram needed to run the new card. If you have onboard video now, I suggest you keep the monitor plugged into the original port till you install the card and its drivers.There are a few things you can plug and unplug while the computer is on, 1 is the video, 2 the sound, and some USB devices as long as there is not a remove device in the system tray.
