I need an adapter jack so I can plug my guitar directly into my CPU. It's a jack that fits over the jack on the guitar chord.
What size is the adapter? Where can I find it?

If you want to do sound in, you need an intermediary device like a Line6 Pod or some other device. Note that it's expensive.

For a neat fix (though one that isn't an audio-only device) is the Lightsnake cable. It is the traditional 1/4" jack that connects to the USB port on your computer. At that point you just define it as an audio-in device. Pretty neat. Amazon sells them here:

Of course, I think I saw them at Target in the musical instrument section for the same price.

go to radio shack, you need a 1/4" to mini adapter, and plug it into your line in port
