I live in a very loud neighborhood in a popular college town in FL... so i use ear plugs every night to avoid the noise and sleep peacefully. Is it safe on my ears? I change them like every 3-5 days but i'm afraid that it could cause some type of damage to my ears. Am i more prone to ear infections? Please let me know because i've searched online and there's little information on the long term use of ear plugs. I think ear plugs are a lot better than sleeping pills. Thanks!

I've been told by several MDs and nurses that there is nothing wrong with this. I have been wearing ear plugs nightly for over 10 years now. I just cannot fall asleep without them. I've had no ill effects so far, and have been assured by professionals that there will be none.

there are ear plugs that you can buy that are reusable and made of rubber, in the morning take them out clean them off with water and a cloth then drop them in a shot glass of rubbing alcohol to keep them sterile. The only adverse effect that the ear plugs will have on you is that you will be more sensitive to sound as you prolong doing this. Just like wearing sunglasses all day and then take them off and your eyes are sensitive, your ears will do the same to sound
