a car ignition switch normally has 4 positions viz Off,Acc,On/Ign and Start. When the key is in the Acc position 12volt is supplied to the sig lighter and car radio for example so they can be used without the engine running ,when the key is in the on/ign position 12v is supplied to all the electrics of the car and the acc position remains "on" supplying 12v to what ever is connected to it.the alarm is connected to acc in order to disable it whilst you are listening to the radio or using any of the cars accessories when the engine is off and also whilst driving

The acc wire on your alarm is for your switched power which means you need to find the wire that has 12volts when the car key is turned to acc and no power whe off. This tells your alarm when your car is on so you cant arm it while driving down the road among other things. Also it is usually a big yellow or red wire in the ignition wiring harness where you will find your power and ground wire.

It means accessory which is a wire that only delivers power when the ignition is turned to the "acc" or "on" positions.

If its for an alarm system you will need to connect to a wire which is ignition switched and remains live while the engine is being cranked. This wire prevents the alarm accidentally being switched on while the vehicle is being driven.
