I have 3 simple ideas for you that I think could be quite helpful.

1 - Think of all the possessions you own that you would be willing to part with that might have value and put them on craiglist or hold a garage sale. You would be SHOCKED at some of the things that can sell. I literally sold a car without an engine within 24 hours on craig'slist and it was a free add (I even stated no engine). Even little thins can sell, and you can put as many adds on there as you need...no matter how big or little. It might be a quick way to raise a few hundred bucks or a few thousand bucks which could provide some quick relief on your bills.

2 - Make a list of all the bills you owe, in fact everything you owe, and put them into an excel sheet where you can easily sort and change them. Put them in order by most important to least important. Don't just assume the order is by due date because even if your cable bill is due right a week before your mortgage, obviously your mortgage is FAR more important. Once you have these bills in order, contact each and everyone one of them and begin negotiating with them on what you can do. You may already be down this road but if not, you will be surprised how many are willing to work with you. Some will, some won't and some you might just want to stop (like cable, internet, cell phone, whatever you ultimately don't critically need). Work out payment plans that you can afford and stick to them.

3 - This will have the biggest long term benefit and if you are serious you will be able to get out of any jam. You need to chart your income and expenses on a daily basis where you track everything down to the penny. Its time consuming, but the value of being able to look back over a month of income and expenses is invaluable because even if you think you know where you are spending money, you will be surprised how little you really know until you are looking at a months worths of expenses. You might find that you spend way too much eating out, or on entertainment, or that you really just need to reorganize your situation. Make sure to keep track using a method that permits you to categorize your expenses. There is plenty of good free software out there that you can use, or even an excel sheet works. But do this right away, you have nothing to lose by knowing your financial picture down to the penny and everything to gain.

As far as your credit, meeting your current debts is more important to your current situation than anything else, but slowly getting your credit repaired is critical. Depending on how bad your credit is, you may ant to consider bankruptcy, or you just might need to start paying things on time and let time resolve some of the blemishes. If you can get current on everything and stay current for a couple years, you will be very good standing with most creditors. Make sure to keep your revolving balances low and if you are in a rut where they are too high and you cannot get out, you need to look into credit counseling.

Best of luck.

Assuming that getting a second job is out of the question right now,

Any chance you could go back to school to increase your skills?

You can also get more money but cutting your expenses. If you go out to eat for lunch, maybe you can cut that down to once or twice per week while the other days you take your lunch from home.

While you are out at dinner at a resturant, order water for your drink.

If you and your child eat out 200 times per year just drinking water will shave at least 300 bucks off of your food bill. A few more cuts like this in other areas and you could save 1000k easily.

switch to the cost saving blubs,
review your phone can cable plans. and look for things on each that you can live without...we dont need 500 cable channels since I only have one set of eyes and 4 view hours most days....

When you go to the grocery store, leave the kids at home.....make a list and buy off of it. (save about 50 bucks a month doing this).

Buy in bulk (sams club or costco) I dont have a big family so most foods in bulk are more than I would need but the laundry detergent and things of the like make it way more economical to purchase it in that way.

When you are going to get your sam's membership, you can share the cost with a friend (a spouse or someone living in the house can be added free of charge)
GOOD LUCk, you can do this

Be sure to take your child's father to court to get the money that your child is rightfully owed. That should help your situation out a great deal.
Why not sell the things that your child cannot wear at a garage sale or on ebay.
Good luck
p.s. Although bank robbers get free cash, the average hold up only nets the people about 3k. NOt a very good gamble if you get caught and have to do 3 years in the pokey.

It is better to live within one's means rather than being overwhelmed with bills. Anyway, you can do some part time job or can knit or design a dress and sell or do baby sitting at home (if not employed) for generate additional income.

Taking loan to clear the bills is a disastrous step. Loan also is a liability and with attract interest so avoid as far as possible.

Good luck and God bless.

If you go to this website, which is non-profit & doesn't sell anything, maybe they can help. Examining your overall financial situation is in order. Take the forst bankruptcy education lesson, but use a ficticious name - that way it's free. Don't let the bankruptcy word scare you - you don't have to go bankrupt. The results of this lesson will give you all of your viable alternatives and the pros and cons of each. Try it!

Either sell Crack, or become a prostitute. Just remember, a crack dealer can only sell the crack once, a prostitue can wash her crack and sell it again.

Sorry, thats in poor taste, thought i should put it out there.

Try finding a work from home job, spam emailing, telemarketing, envelope stuffing.
