That is deffinantly some older etiquette, I know that I am a bit of a traditionalist. I am polite when speaking, I try not to dominate (be the limelight) of a whole conversation giving time for each persons opinion. I choose to greet eveyone with Sir or Ma'am as that it is just courtesy. These day's alot of the common courtesy that is for women and for men are sadly rarely ever seen

Some do. I don't. I don't want any sort of special treatment because of my sex. There isn't an innately female mindset ... we're not automatically prone to modesty, passivity and benignity. I curse, I drive fast, I work out , I'm not agoraphobic or passive with people ... I take pride in autonomy and don't like to be treated as if I need/want protection.

Those behaviors are a sign of good breeding.
It means the parents actually took time with their sons instead of just providing $$$$$.
Unfortunately , too many guys now are like the low rent trailer trash at De Pauw University . . .
They have $$$ but zero manners. They openly say mean and vulgar insults to women that do not dress and act like hoochies.
Because so many men no longer have an honorable upbringing, women are settling for whatever drags its knuckles thru the door.
Should they encounter someone with the good behaviors , they might be in shock but many would totally love it.

Courteousness is a sign of good breeding. It denotes class. :-) It's always nice to see people who take time to be polite.

Oh yes, and women can be as courteous if they see another person, whether it's a man or woman, who has their arms full, to be helpful and courteous towards them.

Those are good things in life that should never disapear, if they are disappearing now it's all those feminists fault, who make men think we are offended with this kind of nice behaviours.

all women like those kinds of things no matter what they say. they could be the toughest of the toughest, but hold a door open for her and she just melts, compliment her and she is all yours.

anything that shows respect and caring is stll liked by many women. Just let it come naturally though. Don't make a big deal out of it being your "duty" to pull out her chair or something.

Yes, we do. It's called being a gentleman and women love it. It doesn't make you a wuss to be polite and courteous.
