I have two deaf students in my college English class in writing. They cannot understand the novel we are reading. They read it but it doesn't make sense to them.
Are there any other educators who have experience with this?
I want to know if I can do anything to help them.
Thanks!

No, but thank you. :)
I am looking for a professor to answer please.
The students get interpreters and note-takers for class. They don't need interpreters. It is because they do not understand English in the way a hearing person does, because of having been taught sign language instead. The college does not provide for this. I am hoping for someone with a similar experience who may have tried something that works to help.
So, my original question still stands...
Thanks :)
