Plus, what's the best way to get in contact with them? by email is best or by phone?, since we're on a tight deadline, i was thinking of making phone calls directly to the PR person of company.

Contact design and architecture firms in your local area. Also contact local/small business owners (large and corporate business can be difficult or impossible to contact) if they are interested. Local businesses in related fields will probably jump at the chance of sponsering an event because it's good promotion for them!
Good Luck!

Your professors should have contacts for this. Often the industry will contact the professors to ask if they can hold an event like this. Ask them for their help, too. Good Luck.

if it's flat work, you might contact a printer to sponsor it, because if the work is quality, they'll want to look good too.

In other words, from a printer's point of view, if an artist has beautiful work printerd there, it will make the print shop look good.
