I recently moved to DC area and am having a hard time making friends. (Like a first for me, I'm very outgoing!) Just don't know where to go or what to do... Any suggestions?

LOL, do i look like a dude in my picture? I am a chick. My hair is pulled back in my picture. And as far as friends go, it's pretty much just me and my husband. Problem is, he's totally content with that. I need more socialization!

my advice would be to take a couple of classes.
a belly dance, aerobics

join an association, or a interest group of some cause you believe in or support. there are lots in the dc area.

you will eventually make friends.

it is harder when you are an adult because folks are busy with children and commuting.

also don't know if you attend a regular worship service, but that is also a place to make friends.

I am a truckdriver...I can tell you that I know dc can be a dangerous place..but Im sure you can take care of yourself,,,try to focus on what YOU are interested in,then see if there isnt a place where those things are happening,,if you find a place like that,Im sure you wont have any trouble making freinds,,,If you let someone tell you where to go,then you will be relying on that persons ability to judge a situation and you will be losing your power to choose,,,,do whats best for yourself,,,dc has a wonderful transit system,,,leave the car at home, get some tokens and go exploring.its cheap, entertaining and Im sure you will have alot of fun finding"your own"spots to hang.

You said the move was recent. Give it time folks need a chance to get to know you. You will meet folks at work and in places where you shop etc. Take time to make yourself more interesting get to know the area well. Take tours, go to museums there are thousands of things to do in that beautiful city. Get involved in life and it won't be long until others want to be involved with you.

I would say go to a club with a friend, or if you dont have one yet, just go by yourself and walk up to someone and introduce yourself. If you get shy, you could always "accidentally" haha bump into a cute girl and than get her name.
