So someone says $1-2 per sale, someone says a penny. Anyone know which answer is correct?

About $1.00 per album. Really big names may get as high as $2.00, but the industry average is about a dollar.

A signed artist earns about a penny per cd. Most of the money from cd's goes to the label executives.

Just a few cents per album. The record company takes almost all of the album profits and the artist earns their money by going on tour.
