Chances are...zippo.
I remember after 9/11 when hick towns in the south were scared of terror attacks...was quite funny actually, the anthrax letter scares, the Muslims playing paintball that were supposed to be "training", the people arrested on terrorist related activities...yet to see a prosecution though.
Have your freedoms been curtailed by anyone but your own government?
Do you live in fear of getting blown up like those innocent people in Iraq?
Are subversive groups operating in your country like the US does in other countries?
Americans wanted to feel relevant during 9/11 - you remeber all the stories about your friend's, cousin's, mother's, friend who was there.

Terrorism has changed my life in one unexpected way - I now have a strong dislike toward Republicans.
Before, I wouldn't have really cared about having a Republican roommate or dating a Republican. I wouldn't have minded discussing politics with people at work. Now, the country is divided more than ever (thanks to Bush and his war against "terror") and I can't STAND to be around Republicans. Because anyone who calls himself or herself a Republican now has to be a racist, sexist, dishonest SOB.

Speaking as someone whose cousin was in the first World Trade Center bombing, terrorism has affected my life. And as someone who drove through a deserted San Francisco on 9/11 to report to work at a newspaper, I also had a real taste of fear while crossing the Golden Gate Bridge (at the time and for awhile after considered a potential target).
None of my freedoms have been curtailed by my government, and I'm sure none of yours have, either. And while I don't live in fear of being blown up, I am much more aware of my surroundings and people around me.
Yes, there are subversive groups operating here, but please list the countries where the U.S. has subversive groups present.
Obviously, you're a big, brave man unafraid of radical Muslims who would love to slowly saw your head off on television. It's a shame your sensitivity and sympathy haven't developed as much as your bravado.

Not being close to NYC when that went down, I do live in a city that was affected by an act of terrorism. And its really nothing to poke fun at. I understand that the US may have made mistakes in the "war on terrorism" and I'm not condoning the war in Iraq. We let them do what they wanted to and didn't do much to prevent them from hitting us in the 90s. We had the information that they were up to attacking us and we did nothing. Now we are doing a lot and taking the fight to their neighborhood and not ours.

The only way it has really changed my life is that if I want a cheap thrill I don't go to the bars anymore, I just go to the airport and try to get past the security checkpoints with something ultra dangerous like boy scout silverware set! Then I just sit back and let the groping begin! ; )
Here's what I want to know - if you are a black belt in Karate do you have to leave your hands at the gate in a little basket?

It hasn't affected my freedom, I don't live in fear. And these hicks towns you have spoken of in the South that you thought were funny, I bet anything that you live in one. There is nothing wrong with hick towns, I have met many that are loving and kind. Their attitude can't compare to yours!!!
Your right chances are ZIPPO!
