My mom works at a pest control service....When I had this problem this is what I was told.
Follow and clean their path with Windex....It will confuse the little boogers! They emit pheromones and rely on the scent of the leader, and if that trail is compromised they go crazy and turn around a go back home.
Next at the point that they are coming in (Door, Window, or wherever) place some grits (If you even know what they are sorry...I am from the south I don't know where you are but if you can find them that is) they will carry them back to the nest and they will eat them and all will die (the grits swell inside their belly and it kills them) PS Grits are ground up corn much like cream of wheat
If you cannot find grits use an ant poison at the point of entry!

That should do the trick....Good Luck :)

I've always found that the old fashioned way works well! Purchase Borax Powder (at most pharmacies, might have to ask employee where it is) and mix 1/4 cup confectioners sugar with about one tablespoon of borax. Sprinkle the solution around where you are seeing the ants. Borax will kill ants. By using a low solution of borax and attracting them to eat the mixture because of the sugar, the ants won't die immediately. (which is a good thing!) You won't be able to get rid of the ants completely without killing the queen. This way, the ants will ingest the borax but make it back to the nest before dying, ultimately eradicating the nest. If you notice ants dying immediately, cut back on the amount of borax.

There is quite a few things you can do to get rid of and repel ants. First you wash down your cupboards and countertops with White Vinegar, not bleach bleach does not keep away ants as they smell there scent you have to do it with Vinegar, use one cup of Vinegar to a half bucket of water and wash down everything and let dry, don't rinse, then to repel you can use my favorite repellent, Mint, which is Mint extract to which you put some on a cotton ball and put these in all your cupboards and run a line of either chalk or baby powder in the door threshold preferably in those channels this will stop the ants from entering your home and run a line of the chalk around your home ant's won't cross the line, thats it your safe from ant invasions and keep those Mint extract cotton balls refreshed about every three to four weeks, also makes sure you treat around trash cans with the mint extract in the same way, ants will go to trash. Good Luck !

Ants travel for two reasons. One is because they are tracking a food source. (Is there junk somewhere in your home that the ants are traveling to? If so, get rid of it.) Two is because they are following their own trail that has been marked at a previous time. (If you clean the areas where you see ants traveling, the chemical they leave behind will be gone and they won't automatically follow it)

The bottom line is get rid of whatever is attracting the ants and then clean everything.

Ants live in the cabinet that your kitchen sink is in. They need water to live on. So that is where there nest is almost 100% of the time. Its a common knowledge thing of exterminator who always, always, sprays up under the sink cabinet towards and onto the bottom of the sink.

No amount of salt, pepper, or any other home remedy will work on these varmits. Buy some Raid and give it a shot or two right under the sink. They will be GONE then

The best and SAFEST way to get rid of ants (I had a major ant problem in my previous house) is the Raid ant traps. After two-four days, you won't have ants in your house. Replace them regularly. I also don't recommend any other brand, I've tried a few and Raid was the only one that really kicked some major butt.

There is two ways that I have seen and which one is best for you depends on if you have young children or pets.
1. Ortho it comes in a green bottle with a spray nozzle attached to a hose. this one is sprayed inside and outside your house around the baseboards and the inside walls of your counters. Not good for use around children or pets but last for about 6 months,
2. Is torro it comes in this little clear plastic in cased package when you break the tip off the chemicals attract the ants and the case keeps the chemicals away from children and pets you put them on your counters and under your sink it last up to 3 months

You have to poison the nest. Get an ant trap which feeds the creepers. They will take the food and return it to the nest, eventually killing them all. You should be able to purchase one at any hardware store.

Beleive it or not Cornmeal. Sprinkle around ants homes and around perimeter of house. They eat it and take it back to their colony and expand and die. No kidding. Safe if you have pets and kids, cheap too.If it rains you have to re-apply and ground has to be dry. I also use Terro liquid, works good too.
