First of all, you need to relax yourself by means of interesting hobbies, doing some regular physical exercises, sightseeing, etc. Have a good girl friend might help, I mean you can find time to talk to her or do something creative to alleviate your depression. However, this is normal, it can happen to most people. If you don't feel better, please consult a medical doctor who can advise you what you should do so that you feel less depressive, medication might be good for you under his/her prescription. Take care.

You should first focus on the cause of your "down mood". Next implement a plan to help your self rebound, it may be a situational thing, which means change your situation as much as you can. Or it may be a chemical imbalance, in that case you should seek professional help.Theres nothing wrong with attending to your mental health as well as your physical well being, after all you are a complete package. As far as finding a girl friend, do you think its really fair to bring someone else into your life and you are not happy. Others are meant to share your happiness, not be the source of your happiness.

I will tell you what my grandad told me. He lived 97 years and he was very wise.
He had terrible depression after having that killer flu in 1917. He ordered a book for $1 and it told him to make himself the center of attention and learn and use lots of jokes.

It said that was probably the last thing he felt like doing, but to do it.

He went so far as to fall down entering a party and everyone jumped to pick him up. He then started with his jokes which he had learned. After a few evenings like that, one friend said" You know, you are the life of the party!!" and everyone agreed.

He said from then on he felt better and better. After awhile he was so popular!! he went on to be a great man and a lawyer for over 50 years and a county judge.

It would help you to learn and use some jokes. I see them change moods every day.

happy days!

The pressure of grades has you down so you need to make it a point of going up to talk to your teachers. Your problems are draining your good energy. Do you see anyone around you laughing and happy all the time? Get around them and their energy and chemistry will help you feel better. We are what we eat so eat the sunshine foods: citrus (ruby red grapefruit, oranges, lemons, limes) and drink a gallon of water everyday. You need a mentor and also to tell someone who cares that you need to find out about depression. God loves you. I love you, too.

Getting a girlfriend will not help you get your spark back or even make you feel "right" again. A girlfriend could even make matters worse for you. Math and chem come naturally to you ...... you are so lucky!!

You need to talk to your parents about going to therapy and perhaps getting on some anti depressants. You sound depressed and that's normal. We've all been there and it's nothing to be ashamed of. Losing interest in things you normally liked to do is a huge sign that you're depressed for some reason. Talk to your parents or talk to the school counselor. It sounds kind of stupid but, if you have someone to vent to, someone who is impartial, it makes a world of difference. Good luck & please, talk to your parents about this!
