I have recently done a lot of research on laptops. I have found that HP and Dell have recieved the best ratings. I would not recommend a Sony, they seem to be poorly made. They have been known to break easily, the casings are cheap, and several people have complained about the LCD screen breaking at ease. They also have poor customer service. I know Dell is runnign a couple of deals right not, and if you speak w/ a live operator they are able to have XP installed instead of Vista. You can also check w/ local small computer shops.

I fairly have 2 Dell laptops. I fairly have used Sony and Toshiba earlier. I recommend going to the Microsoft website under and dealing the Vista compatibility adviser. this provides you with some innovations on the topic of in case your device will run Vista. I recommend you want to have a minimum of two gigs of ram to run the appliance. I warning you approximately gadget motive force themes with upgrading. i think of numerous customers are waiting till the 1st provider %. is issued. That revision will address many of the motive force appropriate themes now. I additionally won't in any respect purchase the stripped down homestead version of an working equipment. I fairly have performed that interior the previous purely to would desire to pass purchase the greater physically powerful corporation working equipment sturdy good fortune.

Unless you need a really sophisticated laptop, and could accomplish what you need with a less costly one, why not buy one with Vista (get the CD and product key), uninstall it and keep for the future as your laptop would be prepared for it, then get Windows XP and put it on for the interim.
I stand corrected. Go here and scroll down a bit. They have laptops with the option of Vista or XP.
