Yes, I admit it! I love old movies. My favorite actor is Yul Brenner and Gene Kelly. I'll watch anything on Turner Classic Movies. I think my top favorite movies are "Singing in the Rain," "An American in Paris," and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." I just don't know why I'm so addicted to them. I think I was born in the wrong generation! Help!

I think it is because my mom watched them when I was little and I watched along wih her. There is nothing wrong with old movies. So enjoy and try watching any movie with Fred Astaire in it he was always my fav. I used to be in love with him when I was 11. haha

Don't worry about it! I think it shows you're a romantic and an optimist at heart. I've always loved old movies and I think it's because they reflect a more innocent, carefree age. In a lot of the movies the concepts of love and marriage were simple and straightforward (at least that's the way they were presented to the audience). Who wouldn't want to be Fred Astaire's dance partner or belt out a musical number with Judy Garland? There was a certain elegance and drama to these movies that is rarely seen in today's films. My favorites are Mildred Pierce, Imitation of Life and Meet Me In St. Louis.

I'm 48 & some of those old movies were even before my time.
I like "Casablanca", "The African Queen", "Singing in the Rain", "The Quiet Man", "South Pacific", "The Sound of Music", Westerns like "High Noon" or just about anything with John Wayne. These are just a few examples.
I think these fims remind us of a simpler time. That's my take on it.

Watch an Affair to Remeber. I loved Cary Grant when I was younger, he was older than my Parents.
I think we all like the romantic view of the old movies.

Gene Kelly is awesome and Singin in the Rain is a classic. No worries man, I'm a Grace Kelly FANatic. I dunno, I guess sometimes it's kinda nice to see what movies were like before CGI took over and storylines took a backseat.

I think its because older movies actually meant something and had purpose. they were trying to tell a somewhat realistic story not some thing that people could only dream about.
