Mad Max was the first movie. Road Warrior was also known as Mad Max 2.

The second movie was called The Road Warrior here in the U.S. when it was released. It's now referred to as Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. It's my favorite in the series by far.

The sequel to Mad Max is Road Warrior in the US and Mad Max 2 in other countries.
