I plan to have my carpets professionally cleaned. Which is better, steam cleaning or dry cleaning?

If the carpets are wollen or silk carpets then go in for dry-cleaning, and if the carpet is of synthetic fibre then go in for steam cleaning.

dry they use a chemical that take the dirt out and cleans at the same time , steam leave the carpet wet for a time
