Once deleted you then have to empty the Trash can, else it still is there (but hidden) to get back your disk space.

Also right click on a disk drive and then Properties, then choose Disk Cleanup, this will rid you of unnecessary temp files., you might also want to go to IExplorer, TOOLS, Internet Options and 'delete files' under Temporary Internet Files, finally check your TEMP folders, anything in those should only ever be there for that current session.

First get another hard drive..most computers have the ability to take one or even two more hard drives and the installation process is really easy.If you're capacity is that high already then it will only continue to add up unless you download to another drive.
Then do a registry clean to get rid of the pieces that you don't see but are left as fragments. After this defrag D. You might want to go to your config system and let all hidden files be shown. And check your programs in D, opening every folder. and checking these. If you're not sure about a program, just google it to see what it is. Lots of times we carry old and newer versions of programs on our drive.

Perhaps you have a virus, get a program to check out your system, I usually use Ad-aware by lavasoft.
