Get a piece of metal flashing. Cut it so that you can attach it to the pole like a lamp shade. The squirrels will crawl up the pole, but under the metal and won't be able to go any further.

I have seen a bird feeder that has a perch bar that will only support the lightest weight. When a squirrle lands on it, it sinks down and also closes up the feeder. Keeps them out of the seed.
there is also a neat thing called a squngee. it's a bungee type contraption that you attach a couple of ears of corn to. It gives squirrels something to eat (not birdseed) while providing fun for you while watching them swing and bounce around on it!
Win-Win!

There is a product called Shake Away for squirrels that you sprinkle around to keep them away. You could put it around the area where your bird feeders are. But for real entertainment, look for Yankee squirrel-proof feeders. They have a ring on the bottom that flips the squirrel off as soon as they jump on it. I worked for an online yard/ranch/farm retailer and the Yankee Flipper was our best selling bird feeder. http://www.yankeeflipper.com

I had the same problem here is what I did.
Go to a toy store & get a slinky toy. Attach the slinky to the bottom of your feeder so the pole goes through the center of the slinky. The squirrels won't be able to climb the pole.
P.S. try to get a metal slinky as they tend to last longer.
Hope this helps

My dad and mom had this problem at their homestead. My dad solved it by ability of making a loose status feeder that replaced into supported by ability of a metallic pole that replaced right into a procedures away ( a minimum of 10') from any tree. He then connected a cone formed piece of plastic with the vast portion of it dealing with downward, placed basically decrease than the feeder. The cone's radius should be a minimum of 8-10 inches, depending on the dimensions of squirrel- that's 16-20 inches diameter. the in undemanding words problem is, squirrels are amazingly sensible at searching and figuring out to purchase foodstuff, in spite of the impediment, so that you'll be able to ought to always ought to out-imagine them.
