Basically the same hard drive stores programs in your computer while a hard disk can be used the same way but less room or memory in it a hard disc could be a dvd for example because it can store a lot of information on it at average 3 to 8 gigs while a hard drive can store from 20 to over 300 gigs of memory.

It is the same thing. Although to some laymen, the harddrive refers to the PC itself and the hard drive refers to the actual disk drive. In actuality, they are one and the same.
