I have heard from a lot of people that most gay men will end up sad and lonely because they have trouble committing. I have sometimes been bummed about it, but I do not mind being single. I get my fair share of "play" and always have friends to surround me. Gay or not, do you think that having a partner would make you completely fulfilled?
(Sidenote question) Why you got a sad face on your avatar D.S.?????? :-D

D.S. I dig that smiley face after the reason. Back in the day "way before emo" was called goth. LOL

I don't think homosexuals have any more trouble commiting to a relationship than straight people do. That seems to be just another stereotype.
And as to your other question:
Because, I lead a sad, empty life devoid of human contact. :-) I'm gone way beyond emo...my soul died long ago.
EDIT: Probably some mix of goth/emo/indie/bipolar. Thanks though.

Yup, I sure do get angry & I'm not even gay.
Lots of people end up lonely - just ask my two married sisters! One has a husband who cheats on her and the other is in a loveless marriage.
Loneliness has nothing to do with sexual preference.
My husband and I agree that we are pretty happily married - but then neither of us believes that one person can completely fulfill another.
By the way our favorite "old couple" to hang out happens to be 2 guys who've been together for 15 years - they've managed to outlast almost all of our straight friends.
Commitment has nothing to do with sexual preference either. That's just propaganda.

No, it doesn't make me angry. lonely is what lonely does.
I chose to become completely fulfilled before I considered having a mate. I am single and loving my life. It would be great to enhance it further with a mate. I think what would make a lonely life is going after what you THINK you want and letting the great guys that come your way GET away.

Nobody has ever told me that! LOL! But I'd just figure that they didn't know what they were talking about . Having a partner does not make you completely fulfilled.
I remember when 'emo' was 'goth', too! :)

No, but it has been sort of socially noticed. Christianity also leads to this lonely life, cuz false christians twist it all. Lie, assume, etc.
Having a partner cannot make anyone completely fulfilled. No other human can give us 100% of our needs, thats what friends are for.

I hope it doesn't. I am lonely now in a straight relationship, and I am thinking of breaking it off and pursuing a girl I admire. I am hoping to reverse what I feel right now in my heart and not be lonely anymore.

being gay does not mean you will grow old and be lonely it only means you will love somebody of the same sex when you find the person you are meant to be with then you will be ready to commit

i am sorry i guess u ask this question bcuz u value my opinion, yes being gay means being lonely when u reachey r fooling around without any commitment, the late 40's and 50's dont fool urself by trying to justify straight ppl's life. bcuz if they fool around without any commitment they too will b loney. what do u want. to have grandchildren around u? start by having children.
