random basically stores any information that related to something that you are doing on your computer at any given moment. For example, if you are using a photo editing software, the changes to your photo are not written to your hard drive until you save it. until then, they are saved in the RAM. when you start your computer your operating system (example: windows) is also loaded into RAM. All info from RAM is erased as soon as you turn off the power.

RAM is an acronym for "Random Access Memory" and is contained on a RAM card(s) within your computer. Think of it this way; Suppose you need to call a plumber to come and fix a leaky pipe in your home. You open the phone book and find a phone number for a plumber. While looking at the number, you dial it on your phone, and the plumber agrees to come over to fix the leak. Now you close the phone book and put it away, not bothering to remember the phone number. That's sort of how RAM works....it stores information in it while you're using it, but when you switch over to doing some other task, it dumps what you were doing and devotes itself to what you're now working on. When you shut your computer down, any information that the RAM was holding gets dumped. On the other hand, if you save info that happens to be in RAM onto your hard drive, that information stays stored there permanently (or at least until you delete it). So, RAM is temporary memory, and I hope this helps.

Ram is Random Access Memory and this is where your pc does it's thing, which is why it is important to have as much of it as possible.
Most pc s of today will accomodate 1gb.
The more a program needs memory, the less is left for other programs to run and this is when the pc starts to use free space on the hard drive which is very slow as it has to search and find data and then try to transfer it into the RAM system

When you run a program we will say Word-Pad. RAM is the temporary memory for Word Pad and what you type. Once you Save your work it is then Stored on the Hard Drive. Now "Virtual Memory" works like RAM when your RAM is full. Virtual Memory writes and reads on the Hard Drive and slows down the computer as this not as fast as RAM for memory. This why people first say to upgrade RAM for speeding up the computer, it cut down on using Virtual Memory.

1>There is one almirah..
2>You need to do some job(need to chk some file)
3>so u wanna bring those files at your table to process...
This table is your RAM....this is your primary memory.....
Whatever you wanna do...u need to refer to Primary memory....
[its not always right....there is a concept of virtual memory...after finishing the basics pls go through it]
