It is a faker truck. Probably made up to look like a 454SS, but has a 305 under the hood instead.

There was a 350 SS made at the same time as the 454 SS, and it was a black shortbox standard cab, so that may have been what they meant. I never heard of a 305 SS in a pickup.

Being a Lightning owner, I've learned alot of the 454 SS, never heard of a 305, or a 350 SS like the other guy said. I'm not saying there is no 350, just haven't heard of it.
Try googling it.

There is no such thing as a 305 SS from Chevrolet in the time frame you quoted. They did make a 454 SS. If you ever find one that has not been abused/wrecked, buy it.

I'm only seven years later... Anyways to answer this, they did not produce a "305ss" but you could special order the 454ss with sticker delete and a high output 305. Really hot 305 and kept up or out ran every 350.

There was no such thing. GM has had some had hard models to sell, I hate to admit as much as I love my Silverado but they never committed that error.
