I will be traveling to Walt Disney World in about a month?

Question

I plan tp try 1 beer from every country in Epcot's World Showcase. Any suggestions for which Beer I should try for each country?

Excellent question! This is the type I would have asked prior to my first visit to Disney World.

Although I cannot suggest a beer from every pavilion in World Showcase, I can suggest beers at two of them... Germany and the United Kingdom. The Germany pavilion has two kinds of draft beer: Lowenbrau & Spatenbrau. Lowenbrau is the lighter of these two pilsners with a slightly less bitter taste than the Spatenbrau. As for the UK, they had two kinds last time I was there... Guiness & Harp Lager. I'm assuming you've had Guiness if you're a true beer conoiseur so try the Harp.

If you want the best beer in all of Disney World, simply leave EPCOT through the back gate and walk over to the Boardwalk. A microbrewery/restaurant called the "Big River Brewing Works" is located there. They have six or seven different types of beer on draft at any given time. A sampler of six beers (4 oz. of each) will only run you $5. Their brewmaster definitely knows what he's doing becuase the beer here is some of the finest I've had. Especially the "Rocket Red". It's fantastic if you're a "hop-head" like me.

I don't know if they still do it but normally if you go the first world showcase pavaillion and tell them of your plan they will give you a "passport" to get stamps in at each country. There is a name for what you are doing-It's called "drink around the world" and normally they have a price that you can pay to have a sample (usually about the size of a shot) at each place. If you plan on going to each country and getting a fullsize drink, be careful :)

wow sounds like the vacation I'm taking in a month, that's scary, Um I'm not a beer drinker but Mexico has great margaritas and I know Germany has great beer Cuz my brother drinks it. Japan has a wide variety of Saki and other wines and things! Just ask the cast members!! Also I would try to try the signature drinks of the country that is always fun!

Each of the countries in the World Showcase will have cast members from that country and I would recommend checking with someone from the country for suggestions. I believe their name tags will tell you where they are from, and if not, ask :)

Ask those selling it. They all hail from the country they are representing and have a good idea of what you should try and what they each taste like. In Japan I had a beer with a dragon on it and it almost had a ginger taste, very good. Canada:Labbatt

Willie, I think Disney forbids alcohol on the park propertys, even in restaurants. I've only ever seen it in the Lake Buena Vista complex where they have entertainment venues. You may want to call and ask so your not let down.
