I don't think it matters what position your sleeping in as long as your comfortable. It's hard to get comfortable when your pregnant, especially in the later months. Invest in good feather down body pillow, spend time fluff-in and propping your pillows. Make a big deal out of bedtime and naps cuz your gonna need your rest.

I'm in my 3rd tri, and I have the same problem can't get comfy. Pillows don't help much hey! I find that the left side is the best for me until my ear starts to hurt or I have to get up and go pee Lol. But in the morning's I find myself on my back too.I know they say it's not to good for the baby as it takes the oxygen levels lower. But it's so hard to stop yourself in the middle of a comfortable sleeping position.I even find myself trying to sleep on my tummy cause that's my most favourite.Have you ever tried sleeping in a recliner chair? My chair that I'm sitting in right now feels pretty Darn good I might just give this a try tonight. Wish you lots of luck & me too!

I sleep with a body pillow on my side at 6 months this time (whenever I get uncomfortable enough to need it). The back is fine.. whatever is comfortable at whatever stage of pregnancy

Normally by about 5 months you're supposed to start sleeping on your side. If you lay on your back and feel like it's getting harder to breathe, or you feel light-headed than you know it's time to flip onto your side. If you wake up and realize you accidently slept on your back (happens to me alot) there is no need to worry. My doctor told me that if it bothers the baby enough, he'll wake you up. Good luck, I know sleeping can be quite a struggle, but you'll figure out a way.

you should sleep on your left is what they say, but i switch from left to right. if you are on your back the weight of the uterus squishes your insides and blood vessels and there is a main artery there too. so whenever your belly gets big enough to really start showing you should be attempting to sleep on your side. I still wake up on my back sometimes, but i just turn back over, i will be so glad when its over!! im 38weeks and will love to sleep on my back again!

i sleep kind of on my side and kind of on my belly... like 1/2 and 1/2 and i am 6 months pregnant. It depends how big you are and your bed too. if your bed is hard than its going to hurt regardless how you sleep.
