I love water, I grew up next to Lake Michigan, and I also love the ocean, and it is something that really means a lot to me. It is something in life that gives me peace. I want to get a tattoo to represent water on me, besides a dolphin, what else could I get that would be pretty?

A friend of mine actually designs tattoos. She had a client that feels the same way for watter you do. What she drew up was really a piece of art and very beautiful. It was a little brook in the middle of the woods with a hand spread open. The index finger was in the water and ripples were going outward in every direction.

The tattoo itself focused on the ripples, the brook and vegetation around it ended but the ripples extended a few inches beyond the border into open skin area. Really beautiful.

Too bad they don't have semi-permanent ones that wear off after a while. That way if you ever outgrow or get tired of one.... How about the great lakes? or a shape of Lake Michigan, etc. (with water ripples inside the shape.) You'd get a lot of converstation about what it was! :)
I also like the guy above's idea about a wave or a couple little curled white water waves. :) Blue with a white cap on them??? :)))) Tear drops are pretty or rain drops but doesn't really represent lakes or oceans as much. Too general & you seemed specific.

Have the tattoo artist write the word water. That says it all.
