Project SERPO apparently was an exchange of human s with alien s. Where an alien race accepted a group of human s picked by the USA government , to be taken by the alien s to there home planet for a certain amount of years. And one alien remain here untill they return.

Does anyone know of any details?

anything at all?

I wish to know because I have only heard of this recently and am very curious .

after having an eye on various sources ...uhm

since it was stated that the last person died in 2002, i would suggest filing a FOIA request no earlier than 2032.

IMHO the whole thing seems to be too far out to be true.

In general, actions of our government aren't THAT secret. And i would be cautious in calling that there are conspiracies of some sort.
The reason is.. we generally elect people into these positions. And those people are responsible for what happens to our taxes. So they are cautious in what and how they invest money. And we as those who pay taxes have sharp eyes to see where this money goes. If there is anything doubtful, you can bet that there are people who react, and you can find it in the news. Along with that .. we have different parties who are twice that watchful, cause the current government in charge will face a strong wind from the opposition in case there is ANYTHING which is somewhat doubtful.
Without question there is a need for secrecy around specific actions, but not to the extend that there are things going on like this.
Secret actions do require a specific approval, and the fight for funding those actions is twice as hard as normal.
The funding is normally based on what the specific outcome is. And the outcome of such a thing like "SERPO" is highly doubtful.. in worst case a so called 'alien species' could possibly turn out to be hostile.
Soooo would you like to be responsible for the funding if something terrible happens, and you turn belly-up when people start pointing fingers ?
Would you ? with just a likewise small income related to other important positions in the industry ? knowing that you won't get your feet under any table, anywhere, later ?

Lets ask for a Black Project's funding
Lets talk about a few billion dollars funding for some advanced military project.
Lets build a new type of aircraft using stealth technology.
Would you fund ?
YES because the B-52 is aging and need to be urgently replaced, not to loose our capabilities in defending our nation.
So you fund, and know more than one good reason to do so.
But SERPO ? excuse me ... which madman would fund such a project ? Its too doubtful and carries unpredictable risks.

a government giving in into such an idea is blamed beyond believe if something goes wrong.

<..>

another story is
i saw various secret documents regarding UFO sightings.
99,9% of all what i saw is just a 'bump in the road'
'someone saw something mysterious' (that is the bump) with an endless chain of unamused bureaucratic eyerolling in written form (which is the car which hops a little after passing the bump).
if there would be anything real in those observations you would find highly engaged communications.
but there's nothing.
Due to the high ammount of declassified stuff regarding this matter i would have expected to see an accidently released paper which would definedly show that there was something going on in the government at that time.
No .. no glitch, anywhere .. or do you know some ?
And no wonder ... there's nothing existing to discover, except the tendency of few people to make themself a name for a short time.
And IMHO this is also the case for SERPO.
it seems the 'source' was highly fascinated by the story of 'close encounters' a movie directed by steven spielberg in 1977. And for me it looks strange that it was just in 1978 when the first 'visitor' returned.

To be honest, I don't know the details, but that might explain the Roswell landing and/or Area 51. I'd say some research is in order.

I had never heard of it before you mentioned it, but I did look it up and read a bit. Here is a link

and something else you should probably see if you haven't already is the disclosure project.
