geico gave me an astronomical quote.... I've heard they give age a very high weight in their calculations, so maybe that's why? I'm 20.

state farm offers dirt cheap full coverage insurance, but you need to have a car with them. And they wanted twice the amount that AIG did to insure the car!

Progressive gave me a good price, but their customer service is terrible. I had to fax the xerox of my msf card and drivers license three separate times because they kept losing it. Also if you call them up prepare to get put on hold for a long time...

If you buy a policy from progressive, get it quoted over the phone. Their online quotes are around 20% higher for some reason.

Geico has always been the best rate for me as long as they only quote motorcycle insurance, I pay 165 per year for full coverage on both bikes. When I tried to group all my vehicles together on one policy I was better off keeping my current policy on my cars and only using Geico for the motorcycles.

If you provide all the correct information, the quote should be accurate. You can also call and have a representative give you a quote.

I found Progressive to be cheaper for my motorcycle insurance.

ron03r1 is correct, Geico's quote for me was about $100 higher than Progressive.
As far as 808GSXr's answer about age, I'm 50 and have been riding for 32 years.

I found Geico to be cheapest, cheaper than Progressive, in my case. Age, experience, record, location and type of bike and even credit rating can affect the price you pay.

Screw GEICO! They are more concerned with paying for celebrity endorsements and expensive CGI lizards than they are about taking care of your claim, and they will screw you over as soon as you need them.

Go with Farmers, State Farm, or Progressive instead.
