Ok, is it just me or are there more black racist than white racist now? It seems like black people are always saying "Oh that person is racist! She said she didn't like my shoes! And I bet it's because I'm black!" You know? Another good example is that there's a black history month, but not a white one. Don't you think that is wrong? Don't take this in the wrong way because I am not racist at all but sometimes I wonder.....

You're right on the money. Its a big deal if a white person offends a black one, but not the other way around, beacuse apparently some blacks think they have "special rights" because of slavery (which is OVER). If anything, they should be grateful for having the opportunity to have a better life here, in America. Im not saying slavery is right. It is horrible. But as you can see, it all turned out for the best. I'm not saying blacks should worship whites for bringing them here, but the least they can do is stop the racism on THEIR side, and stop making a big deal out of every little thing they don't like about someone, calling them a racist. I don't mean for it to come out harsh, but really, if you have a problem with white people and "racism", you are more than welcome to return to Africa.

I have no problem with black people, as long as they don't overdramaticize everything and blame every little misfortune on racism. Does racism exist? Sure, and it does exist on both sides. But not as much as some people would like it to.
I have seen many whites defend blacks, saying that they are there for them, and sympathize, but not much the other way around. If we want to reduce racism, it has to be done on BOTH sides.

BOTH whites and blacks have to work on it.

Racism is spread out pretty evenly across the board, especially where I live-the buckle of the Bible Belt.

It sucks, I'm a young Hispanic mother of 2 and I can't go into any store-especially Target-without the clerks following me like I am going to steal something. Funny thing is, I pull in $45,000/yr -alone. But looks are decieving.. And I know that anyone a shade or more darker than I gets even worse treatment.

And, yes, I do think it's stupid to have a 'Black History Month' just because it's all really AMERICAN HISTORY. Ugly as the mistreatment that any non-white person was, and in lots of cases still are, receiving-it's American.

And, no, I'm not a racist. I hate people based on the level of their stupidity alone. But, the only thing I find offensive about the whole thing are the constant re-runs of the 'Friday' movies, and 'Sugar Hill.' C'mon! Isn't that more of a racially negative thing than a positive one?

hi,
i am not taking it the wrong way but aren't you. black people have been opressed for quite a while and only sence the late late sixtys did we get a chance to voice our opinions, to vote, to walk down the street as human beings and not as some kind of blemish on socity, and to get that privolage the the whites have had sence they came to this world( The Americas) as it has been so candiedly stated the land of plenty,of the free, of the brave, the week and the stronge, the young and the old, where all man are created equally. so they say, yet when the white got here, and made these rules they left out only if you are white, after the indians tought them how to live in this country , the indians are forced to live on reservation (for there protection) all of this after several of these wonderfully brave and incredable people where broken down, women and children slatered in there sleep or after the brave had gone on a hunt, then when the work became to hard for them they went looking for someone else to do the hard work they should have been doing, the Africans the savages, and when the Afraicans decided to say no, to protest to the beatings, to the humiliation that they were forced to go thruogh as if that was not enough there was terror for several years, unjust hangings, unjust murders for speaking your mind, unjust jailing for simply saying no to a white man, forced to work in unkind conditions, being forced to drink from a different water fount just because you are black, i could go on and on but i think that you get my point. dear it is not racist it our way of protecting our selves from yesterday . a month of black history is only the begining. we have to keep our history alive and true because it is not in the history books as it should be, and it is not just the blacks, it the indians, the chineese, and the mexicons there history is not in the history books either, and so many of them blacks and indians, chineeseand mexicans, and yes some poor white who could not pay there way were forced to work alone side those people becaues they were no better than those people nearly half if not all of the railroads where laids by blacks and chineese, you already know about some of the things the indians did to make the united states what they are today and yesterday i can not say much for the mexicansbecause i don't know that much about there part in forming this country except, either all of californa or parts of californa where taken unfairly from them because they did not understand the laws.check the libriary and internet and learn more of the history of America and the builders of this great nation.

Black people in America cannot be "racists." They can be prejudice, but they cannot be "racists." To be racist implies that they have authority and control over the power structure within a given society. Black people in America cannot attest to any such claim within our society. We are in the minority here. Therefore, our rights and privileges can easily fall prey to the whims and misgivings of "white" America. Ultimately, they are the ones who set the rules. They set the status quo, the standards of beauty, the standards for education, the standards for quality of life, the list goes on. They are the ones who define how America will receive their brown, yellow, or red-skinned neighbor. And if history is any judge, that reception has seldom been kind. But do not mistake my words. I am not saying that all white people are racists. However, you have the potential to be; simply because the power rest with you. White people must own up to that responsibility...and wield it very carefully. Otherwise they might start wondering why there is any need for any of the concessions that Black people have attained over the years. They might start wondering why we need Black universities, Black leading actors, Black role models, Black history in school, and Black history months. In an instant, they could decide that it is all unnecessary and begin working to reverse any progress that we have already achieved. White people have that luxury. The rest of us do not. If we want to affect change, the rest of us have to struggle to bring it about. And we cannot be called "racists" because the power does not lie within us. It lies within you, "white" America.

I totally agree with your statement...maybe our government thinks all the other 11 months are white history months. But there never seems to be a big deal made about white ppl's accomplishments. One thing i remember back in school was everyone getting out on presidents day. Even though there has never been any black presidents..the black kids got out too. But when M.L.K. day came around the black kids were the only ones excused from school...I always thought that was totally unfair. And Ty...your attitude is why alot of white ppl feel the way that they do. I dont really care what a sista has to say..stop crying and get over it.

It's racist against white people that a black person with a 3.0 gets accepted into college instead of a White person with a 4.0. And it's racist that a mexican tenant gets picked to rent an apartment over a white tenant just because the manager has a policy that says they have to yeild to minority groups. It happened to me one time. My application didn't even get looked at because I was white. Going out of the way to not be racist toward minoritys causes racism toward white people. If they wouldn't even ask what race a person is on an application, then how is it racist. Just pick the best person.

Yea I can see that in the world. Its kinda sad we just can't get along. I also see that not only is racism still around, there is tons of teasing and segregation of groups of people with in races. Now we have emos, seensters, preps, etc.

But black history was ignored complete for a really long time. Black History Month is a acknowledgment to all of black history. And why is there not a white history month. Mmm... Most months are based on white history so yea. St. Patrick Day (Irish), Christmas (German) and so on...

No, I think there are still more white racist people, and there is only a black history month because blacks went through more then white people ever did in history.

I live in an area dominated by blacks and i always wonder if they treat me bad simply because im white. Many times I will have a black cashier at the grocery store and they will refuse to even acknowledge my presence, as if i'm that disgusting to say hello to or even tell me what the damn total is. I've had many blacks, almost always women, actually look the other way as they handed me my change. It really has me thinking that they have major issues with white people.

Being racist is not calling someone else a racist. Being a racist means "the belief that people of different races have different qualities and abilities, and that some races are inherently superior or inferior". I don't know how simply saying "your are racist" would make you a racist. I was going to say look up racist in the dictionary, but I did it for you, so you don't have to. Happy?

No offence because your right but does it really matter? Alot of people are retarded that’s just how the world is. Stop worrying about what other people think and just do what’s right. For one person to pull the race card whose white or black. Is just pure ludicrous and shows there ignorance these days. I would worry more about bigotry and the hostile action against gays, muslims, atheists and other groups that are feared in America. The only choice we have is to educate our children to not be ignorant.
