Find a flight school. Nearly every airport has one. Flight schools are more flexible and cheaper than colleges that offer aviation courses. With the flight school you have full control over when you take your lessons and how often (other than the weather canceling some).

You start by going for your private pilot certificate. After earning this you build flight time in preparation for earning your IFR and Commercial certificates.

If you are part of a flight crew you may be calling your goal commercial pilot incorrectly. Large passenger planes require the ATP, airline transport pilot, certification. This requires a massive number of hours to earn. Most people who hope to earn this become flight instructors after earning their commercial rating. Being a flight instructor allows you to build up flight time while getting paid for it, instead of paying yourself.

In addition to ATP you'll want to earn a multi-engine rating at some point since most commercial operations use such aircraft.

You need to start at the bottom with a regular pilot license and begin working your way up with flight hours and larger aircraft.
