dont forget that this is the first bond story based off a comic. it explains why bond does what he does. for example, in the older movies he doesnt trust anyone and doesnt fall in love. in this one he does but at the end he no longer trusts anyone and decides to stay emotionally detached which is why the older movies are as they are

Not to be argumentative by James Bond did fall in love AND married in the film " ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE" ( George Lazenby/1969) I really disliked the prequel premise, and found Daniel Craig hard to like as Bond.

People believe that this was the first Bond movie. Actually it was not. The original Casino Royale (1967) was a spy movie with David Niven. The story was based on the Bond character who came out of retirement. The reason for that was because they were between Bond characters. Sean Connery had temporarily left the Bond series. The next guy (Peter Hunt) only did one Bond movie called "On her Majesty's Secret Service" Afterwards, Sean Connery came back for "Diamonds are Forever" and "Never Say Never Again" , after that Connery was replaced by Roger Moore who's first Bond movie was "Live and Let Die". The 2006 Casino Royale story line was not like the original, they made up their own plot.

The first thing that struck me was how different this Bond movie was from all the others!! I thought it was more realistic and that Bond was being portrayed as human who if put into an impossible situation like the one in the car .... where he almost died compared to previous Bond movies where he seems to go through the whole movie without a scratch on him!! So all in all a great movie ..... and I like how they have changed the perception that all the different men that have played Bond over the years was playing James Bond, but this one he is playing an agent with a code name James Bond!! So for those of you who have not watched this movie, go out and get .... one hell of a movie with everything!!

What do you mean he does'nt trust anyone and fall in love in the older Bond movies? Bond got married in the movie On Her Majestys Secret Service? I watched Casino Royale 2007 the 2x this week. To be honest it is not the kind of movie i will watch over and over again-which most of the 007 movies are for.

I actually saw Casino Royale twice in theaters (the second time being better than the first). Daniel Craig is probably my favorite Bond, he's got that Sean Connery kind of feel. The last Bond film that I liked was Golden Eye, with Pierce Brosnan, anything after that (until now), kinda went downhill. I can't wait to get this on DVD and relive the experience. Casino Royale gets 5 out of 5 stars in my book.

Nobody beats Sean Connery!! I thought the movie had a lot of action, but the whole love-bird thing is just not James Bond style!! That ruined the movie for me!! Eva Green was fine but Halle Berry was the best Bond girl ever!!! God Bless!!

LOVED IT!!! Did not expect it to be as good as it was. Daniel Craig was amazing as Bond and Eva Green was the best Bond Girl I've ever seen. The action scenes were spectacular, and it packed quite an emotional punch as well. Great Movie.

Now, Casino Royale. Don't judge because of the actor they chose. I did, and i saw it, and regretted ever doubting him. Great story line. Daniel Craig is a good James Bond, yet, cannot replace Peirce Brosnan.

even better note about casino when it was first made, it was a spoof on all the James bond films, i haven't had a chance to watch this one yet, but with what all i have heard i think its going to be okay, at least we all know it can't be any worse then when timothy dalton was bond

I hated it. Daniel Craig was not convincing to me as Bond. No one can replace Sean Connery imo. However I did enjoy Eva Green's performance.
