Sorry Charlie, top mounts zoop. FMICs are much better because there is only so much room on top of the motor. Plus on a top mount, you can actually force air from inside the engine compartment up through the IC instead of the other way around if the pressures are greater under the hood. In effect it would become a top mount inter-heater. Run a FM, and then make sure your radiator can effectively handle the additional heat from the IC being in front of it.

It depends on how the air is ducted to and from the intercooler - but usually the top-mounted ones are best. They have a nice, clean air flow from the hood, and they don't pick up heat from the radiator when you're stopped - although they can pick up some from the engine, instead. Like I said, it all depends on the air flow to it, and away from it.

nope. the front mount gets the most air going down the road.
