To regulate the amount of homo sexuals in the world? What are the chances, if they adopt a child they would try to turn it gay.

I am looking for opinions on the subject, I know that I am ignorant so there is no need to post an answer that says I am ignorant. Its a serious question so please post your opinions and try and refrain from calling me every name in the book.

The sexual orientation of the people who raise a child will not affect the orientation of the child. If that was true, homosexuality wouldn't exist and there would be no gay children of straight parents, of which there are many. Lots of gay parents and gay caregivers raise up straight children; if their children are gay, you better believe it's not how they were raised, but rather just their sexual orientation.

And moreover, there's no reason to "regulate the amount of homosexuals in the world". Why would there be? The world's population isn't in danger of falling out. Homosexuals are not a bad influence on anything- they are simply people. Any time someone starts talking about "regulating" a certain section of the population, look out. That's how Hitler started and every bigot begins.

And finally, there are so many children out there in need of good homes. Gay men and women who want children have so much love to give, and I can't believe there are people out there who would rather have a kid in an orphanage or unfit foster home than with gay or lesbian caregivers. The only thing that should keep people from being able to adopt is if they cannot give quality care to a child.

Hope that helps.

No Gays and Lesbians should not be denied. Instead they should look harder at Alcoholics, Dead beats with no job or education to get a good job, people with anger issues and so on. Better yet you should have to have a license to give birth to prevent people only seeking more welfare, child abusers and general sickos from giving birth and being allowed to raise a child. Why are people trying to stop loving Gay parents from adopting but doing nothing to prevent careless idiots from reproducing. Further more there is just as much chance of a child being raised by gay parents as there is them being raised by straight parents.

I'm very, VERY gay... my parents, however, are straight. Why should the other way around make any difference?

Its just stupid that ppl would think that a gay couple would want to turn their child gay. COME ON! Us GLBT know how it feels to be alienated, judged and criticized, we of all people would leave our children be whatever it is they prefer.

I think that there's too many children in this world without a cozy home to call their own, to be making political and demographic deals out of gay couples' right to adoption.

Why should I give you a nasty answer, I thought it a good question. I dont think that gays should be denied the right to adopt. There is good and bad in all walks of life so why should gays be discriminated against. How many children grow up in a straight relationship and follow in their parents footsteps, very few and it would be the same with gays.

well my mom is gay so i am really biased but here is how i see it my mom has never tried to turn me gay acually she says that she hopes that i am not gay because they get so much crap from people who have issues with gays. and how can you turn someone gay? obviously strait people dont always produce strait people (my moms parents were strait) how can you make someone gay. its like hanging around tall people will make you taller. there are so many crappy druggie parents out there why should loving people who desperatly want a child be deinied one? a good home will be better for the child than foster care no matter what the sexuality of the parents.

It's not fair that hetero couples can have "accidental" children that they don't care for, when loving gay and lesbian couples can't adopt a child they would genuinely love and protect based on people's ignorance.

I would love to adopt a child one day, and one of my biggest fears is that they would be afraid to "come out" to me as straight. I will let them know that I will always love them no matter what orientation they identify as. I would be PERFECTLY accepting of a straight child! In fact, I'd PREFER a straight child, because I can't stand the thought of my child going through the crap I did when I was younger & coming out.

Straight people raise gay kids so why would gay people raise only gay kids? I think it's more or less decided at birth. Besides wouldn't you rather a kid go to a nice and healthy gay family than a disfuncional straight one or remain as government property for the rest of the life.

OK... fair enough... you want to be enlightened...I hope u have an open mind and wish to be educated and lifted up to a higher person...

No there are so many children looking for a home... SO MANY. Why should they be deprived.

My parents raised me. They are both straight. They were loving and I had a great childhood. I am Gay.

No gay parents can't "make" their children Gay and they don't have an agenda to do so. We don't have to recruit! There are enough being born EVERYDAY!

Hope this helps.

Two straight people can raise a Gay child. I see nothing wrong with people that are Gay adopting children.

ok, adopting a gay child does not mean that the child will turn out gay, just like not all straight parents have straight kids and not all adopted kids with tall parents turn out to be tall. if anything they'll just be more open to alternative lifestyles.
