Well I mean I tried to do the honorable thing & return it.. but they wouldn't give me the money back without a receipt..
I feel bad.

Tell your local police officer. Depending on the situation, what you stole, how you stole it, did you use a weapon? That one person above me was right, I guess I'm the one to say it-turn yourself in. I'm sure jail is not fun, but...do the deed, do the right thing. Do you really want this hanging over your head for the rest of your life? Looking over your shoulder, wondering? Maybe if you went to the place of what you stole, the manager might be able to do something about it. You're asking on Y!A - guess you're feeling guilty or just want someone to tell you "It's ok" - well, it's not. If you don't have the money, get a job! Or, there are many ways to get things that you need if you are in a certain situation, like diapers for the baby, baby formula, etc. If you just want an IPod, you lost my vote. Ask someone you know personnally. Good luck to you.

Don't do it again. If you don't turn yourself in, at least apologize in your mind. Hopefully it wasn't anything big. If you're christian, you'll want to repent. If you truly feel guilty about it and apologize, you won't do it again. Turning yourself in/ returning what you stole may help get some guilt off your chest, but it's your decision. Nobody's perfect, but good people are the ones who are willing to change for the better. I hope everything turns out okay!

um. why. You should of just bought it or just not have taken it. Well, I dont need to tell you that you SHOULD do the right thing. Unfortunately, most people who shoplift are also extreme cowards, so they'll either live with guilt or live with crime.
