It's amazing when you ask a question like this and you read all the clueless responses of some of the board members that contribute here.
Scott Mitchell? He had three good seasons in Detroit, including one for more than 4000 yards
Aaron Brooks? Sure he looks terrible now, but he had 4 straight seasons throwing over 3500 yds, and his career td/int is 123/92
Jay Schroeder? He helped lead the Redskins to the Super Bowl along with Doug Williams
Drew Bledsoe? He led the Patriots to the Super Bowl
Rex Grossman? He led the Bears to the Super Bowl
Brad Johnson? He WON a Super Bowl
Worst QB ever?
Some of these have been mentioned
Ryan Leaf (worst in my book)
Akili Smith
Chris Weinke (2-18 career record)
Todd Marinovich (first ever start was a playoff game? what were the Raiders thinking?)
Babe Laufenberg
Andrew Walter looks horrible
Dan McGwire
George Wilson (started because he was the coach's son)
too many others to mention

If someone every played a day in the NFL they can't be the worst QB ever or else they wouldn't have made it in... to make it into the NFL you have to have a lot of skill and be god at some point... worst QB ever that played professionally would be a better question... and then I'd look to some tard in NFL Europe that really sucks... I mean if Rohan Davey was good in NFL Europe the bad QBs there must have been like Rex Grossman on a bad day on their BEST DAY

After watching Raiders QB's Andrew Walters AND Aaron Brooks stink up this last season, they make a serious case against Ryan Leaf. Brooks had better stats then Walters, but was booted before the DEFENSE could win them a couple games. But Brooks was awful with the Saints as well (trust me, I'm a Bucs fan...I saw just how awful).
And you can't hate on Brad Johnson or Rex Grossman....they may not be "good" but one won a Super Bowl (Johnson with the Buccaneers) and the other went to the Super Bowl (Grossman with the Bears). That officially disqualifies them from this conversation.
So my money is on is Aaron Brooks. No matter where he goes he's terrible.

the worst qb ever the 1992 heisman winner Gino Torretta. Drafted in 1993 by the Vikings and played in one game as a Seahawk in 1996 coming off the bench. retired in 1997.

There were so many of them.
Ryan Leaf for sure and Akili Smith.

Dave Brown, the (at the time) so-called "quarterback of the future" for the NY Giants. I guess that explains why our future was so bleak in the mid to late 90's.

I don't think any of these names are bad QBs, they're just busts. They just didn't live up to the expectations they set for themselves in college. I think you can't say who is the worst is becuz most are probably products of their systems, except the truely great QBs, i.e. Manning, Brady, etc. Jeff Garcia is a great example, he excelled in SF and not so much in CLE/DET, now he's doing good again. So you can't really decide on who's worst.
