When you and a person of the opposite sex sit on opposite sides of the room, and you make eye contact about 6 or 7 times every day in an hour-long class, what does it mean?

It means she or he finds you attractive and would rather look at you than someone else in the class. Next time they do it give them a wink or something and make some sort of look to tell them that you too find them OK and see if that turns out to be a good move. You can talk to them in the hall someday and just comment on the fact that the class is either good or bad but OK because they are in it with you. You can also comment on some aspect of them that keeps you making that eye contact. Could be she just has nice eyes, a cute smile, an overall hot package or something, clothes, color combo that you find interesting. Once you make the compliment then follow it up with some conversation on some other topic. You should be able to tell after that whether it was you she was looking at or the tree outside the window with the cat that the firemen just rescued. Good luck and if you do not succeed you can still continue to look, in time she just may find you as interesting as you find her, and at least you tried.

The eyes can tell. If you feel something, you can see the little smile on the other person's eyes.

Most likey that you like them and they like you back, or they like what your hair looks or how you dress. Depends on the way the eye contact looks.
