when people say "I don't know" or "good question"?

when people use sarcasm when you have a serious question.

when people start complaining about being duped when they don't know the entire story.

Those are my top three pet peeves. Anyone agree?

Oh, and I hate it when people say "cuz" or "u". I think it makes them look stupid.

Good point.
Also people who don't read the question all the way through and answer it anyway.

I agree with the "I don't know" answer. They are just seeking points. If you don't know an answer, then don't answer. There are thousands of questions to choose from.

I don't mind the "good question" comment. That makes me know that I'm not the only one that thinks that way. And that I'm not asking a stupid question.

Quite often I've asked a serious question and get sarcasm back. This happens a lot in the Religious/Spirituality section. If someone doesn't share in my beliefs, fine. But you don't have to be down right rude and arrogant about my serious question. When I ask a question about a scripture verse or a church tradition, I am directing it to other Christians. Many atheists feel the need to answer with the typical "Doesn't matter because God doesn't exist anyways." Many are very rude about God.

Of course we don't know the whole story. When asking a question here we are limited to so many characters. There have been a few times where I've answered questions and then add or begin with "I don't know you and your situation, but I suggest...."

I wonder often that if we were face-to-face when asking and answering, would we still say the exact same things. Would the rude people still be that rude? Would people that swear in all their answers still swear in person? Would people still say the same things about gays, Christians, Muslims, atheists, the war, conservatives, liberals, etc.? I doubt that many are that bold in person. Yet I know many people lie online.

Rudeness, arrogance, swearing and talking about something that you know nothing about are my pet peeves.

I do agree with the "cuz" and the "u" and I'd also like to add "da" in place of the.

Serious questions do deserve a serious answer, but chances are, you won't get that in P&S.

Don't forget people who do not read the question all the way through and give an answer not connected to your question at all.

WOW!! well i can agree w/ most of your stuff, but using 'cuz'or 'u' doesnt make us look stupid, its just faster that way. And if ppl post serious questions here then they will get what they deserve, this is the fun catagory.
